Job Summary:

The Sr. Engineer/ Assistant Manager -Productions will oversee and optimize the coke oven operations, ensuring efficient production, quality control, and compliance with safety and environmental standards. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and coordination with various departments to achieve production targets.  Should be able to work in shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management:

· Supervise and manage coke oven operations to ensure optimal productivity.

· Monitor process parameters and ensure adherence to operational standards.

· Plan and execute production schedules to meet demand and quality targets.

· Minimize process deviations and troubleshoot production issues promptly.

Quality Control & Process Optimization:

· Ensure the production of metallurgical coke with the required quality specifications.

· Conduct root cause analysis for quality deviations and implement corrective actions.

· Work on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency and reduce costs.

· Monitoring the coal blending to get desired blend parameters.

Safety & Compliance:

· Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with environmental and industrial regulations.

· Conduct risk assessments and implement preventive safety measures.

· Train and educate workers on best safety practices.

Manpower & Team Management:

· Supervise and guide the production workforce, including shift supervisors and operators.

· Plan manpower allocation efficiently to ensure smooth operations.

· Conduct performance evaluations and provide training for skill development.

Maintenance & Coordination:

· Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure minimal downtime of coke ovens.

· Report equipment failures and assist in preventive maintenance planning.

· Coordinate with raw material handling and dispatch teams for smooth workflow.

Documentation & Reporting:

· Maintain production records, shift reports, and process logs.

· Prepare and submit reports on production performance, efficiency, and deviations.

· Assist in audits and compliance-related documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

· Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Metallurgy / Chemical / Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).

· Experience: 5–8 years in coke oven operations or a similar industry.

· Technical Skills:

· Proficiency in SAP for production management, tracking, and reporting

· Skills Required:

o Strong knowledge of coke oven processes and coal carbonization.

o Experience in process control and troubleshooting.

o Proficiency in ERP/SAP for production reporting.

o Leadership and team management abilities.

o Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.

Preferred Competencies:

Experience in Stamp Charging/ Heat Recovery Coke Oven Plant is an added advantage.

· Familiarity with heat balance, refractory maintenance, and gas recovery systems.

· Ability to work in shifts and handle emergency breakdowns effectively.
